Overview of promotion system

  • VE (Naredba za regulirane na cenite na elektricheskata energia – Ordinance on Regulating the Prices of Electric Power)
Promotion system
  • Price regulation. The Renewable and Alternative Energy Sources and Biofuels Act provides the statutory basis to price regulation through a feed-in tariff, which is the main element of the Bulgarian promotion system. The Act stipulates the obligation to purchase and pay for electricity fed into the grid.
Technologies

In general, all technologies used in the generation of electricity from renewable sources are eligible for the tariff. However, some inefficient system types are ineligible for promotion.

Area of application

At the moment, only projects implemented in Bulgaria are promoted.

Funding

The costs of the feed-in tariff are passed on to the consumers through the electricity price.
