In the Republic of Poland, electricity from renewable sources is promoted mainly through a quota system. Furthermore, electricity from renewable sources is supported through loans and tax relief.

Overview of access to the grid

Grid operators are obliged to connect renewable energy systems to their grid without discriminating against certain system operators. Furthermore, grid operators must give priority to electricity from renewable sources in the transmission of electricity. Grid operators are also obliged to expand their grids in line with the general provisions of energy law. However, system operators are not entitled to an expansion of the grid.
