| Promotion system | - Price regulation. In Slovenia, the generation of electricity from renewable energy sources is promoted through price regulation. Certain producers of renewable electricity ("qualified producers") may choose between a feed-in tariff in terms of a higher "standard annual price" and a "standard annual premium" on top of the electricity price they achieve on the market.
- Subsidies. In Slovenia, the Agency for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (AURE) awards subsidies through public calls for applications.
- Loans. The Slovenian Environmental Fund (Eko sklad) awards loans through public calls for applications.
|
| Technologies | In Slovenia, all technologies used in renewable electricity generation are generally eligible for promotion. However, the capacity of certain systems may be limited. Limitations regarding subsidies and loans may be specified by the respective call for applications. |
| Area of application | Only electricity generated within Slovenia is eligible. |
| Funding | The cost of the price regulation system is borne by the consumers, who have to pay surcharges on top of the electricity price. The funds for the subsidy are provided by the state. The funds for the loans are provided by the state and other national or international legal entities and natural persons. |
